This weekend Andrew and I got to go to Rocky Mount to see my family :) Andrew also had a concert in the area on Saturday night, so it was very convenient! Ok, so here's the "low-down" on my family... My parents live in Rocky Mount - a hotspot along I-95 :) I have a sister who is 20 and a Junior at Liberty(Jana), a 16-year brother (Zachary) and a 12 year-old brother (Luke). It's always so great to be able to see them!!

This particular weekend Zachary had a basketball tournament for his conference... and they won the championship! He also went to the Debu-ette Sweatheart Dance (the girls ask the guys). So I have posted some pictures of my wonderfully handsome brother and his eventful weekend :) (He's the one in the bright red tie)..... All my single ladies (as Beyonce would put it), yes he is single, yes he does love the Lord, and NO I'm not letting him date until he's at least 25 :)

Strike a pose and painting :)

So this evening, Andrew calls me into the bathroom, where I find him posing in front of the mirror in his new shirt. His immediate, and serious, question was "Do I look cool when I stand like this?". He then provided a couple of different poses for me to choose which one was my favorite, or which one was the "coolest". Personally, I found this to be quite hilarious. Above is a picture of Andrew's posing.

Also, I have recently tried my hand at painting and I'm really enjoying it :) I have listed below two things I have recently done. Also the picture at the top of our blog is one a did as well. Hopefully with practice I'll get much better!

continued...

Here are a couple more that wouldn't fit :)

The apt

So, it's Wednesday night and the long anticipated Carolina/Duke game is on, but I am sad to say that I am a very poor supporter of College or Professional athletics. I am finding that as Andrew enjoys the game, this blog is a great time filler :)

Below, I am posting some pictures of our apartment. It's nothing fancy, but we love it :)

Wacky Day!

This week at school is "Spirit Week"! I'm not quite sure what we are "spiriting", but regardless, we are to be full of spirit every day :) Today was "Wacky Day", which is characterized by the wearing of an accumulation of wacky clothes. Above, are people that are doing a wonderful job of sporting their "wacky" best (I'm not sure who they are, but it provides an adequate picture of how my day was).
My outfit consisted of black hose, tall purple socks, teal capris, a hot pink long-sleeved shirt with a button up short-sleeve black and white polka dot top, tennis shoes, and one earring. Unfortunately, as each of the children entered the room they all asked why I had not dressed wacky. Most of them assumed that the only effort I made was to wear one earring... they were not impressed. I guess your average 6-year old would have really enjoyed wearing my outfit... go figure :)
Although, one of my students did say that my purple scrunch socks made me look like Chuck-E-Cheese. I let her know that wasn't really the look I was going for. But, hey, you take what you can get!

Our First BLOG!!!!

With great joy and excitement, I welcome Andrew and I into the world of blogging. I am certain this will begin the start of a new journey in our lives! I have waited and waited for the right time to begin sharing our lives with you... and it appears that the time is now right :) I am going to go ahead and apologize for my lack of consistency with updated posts. But I hope that with time and a little encouragement Andrew and I will be able to provide you with the latest news from our lives.

As a part of this first blog, I would like to give a "shout out" to my sister-in-law Mrs. Natalie Felton for her encouragement in this endeavor. I can only hope that we will one day be as diligent and as informative a blogger as you :)

-Yours Truly
